Sorry, it’s nothing fancy. I’m just a Buffalo author with a B.A. in English from the University of Maryland and I’m a little more than halfway through my M.S. in International Economics.
Though I’ve been “writing” my whole life (my grandma still tells me stories of how I used to sneak up to her office when I was younger and type short stories on her computer) I’ve only actively pursued publishing since 2014. I was a senior in college with the real world breathing down my neck. I guess I just said fuck it, might as well pursue what’s always made me happiest. What’s funny is at the time I was still goofing off and making music with friends who have all gone on to become far more successful than me (rightfully so).
I published my first novella when I moved back to Buffalo. Just Under the Sky was written when I was living in Bozeman Montana (in case you were wondering what inspired me to focus so much on the environment). When I signed my first contract and saw my first cover, I don’t know, it was sort of like a drug. I wanted to chase that feeling; to feed it and let it grow. I know this all sounds tacky but it was that rare moment where your wildest dream is validated. It was the first time I actually felt like a writer and not one of those douchebags at the Starbucks talking about that novel they’re never gonna publish.
By now you’re probably sick of this rambling, so I’ll leave you with this. If you ever want to hear more about my work, my life, or just say what’s up, feel free to reach out. I like to think I’m pretty good at prompt responses and some of my closest internet friendships have come from random messages.
