For those of you who don’t know much about me outside of writing, one of my favorite things in the world is watching movies. Thanks to MoviePass, I’ve been able to see a lot more movies in theaters (no this isn’t an ad for moviepass but I do highly recommend it for anyone who sees at least one movie a month).
Anyway, rather than only using this site to talk about writing, I thought it would be nice to include some posts about myself. Who I am as a person, the sorta thing people could maybe relate to.
I wanted my first post to be on something not only important to me, but something I know most people can relate to: MOVIES!
So what better way to start a movie talk than by listing my top five favorite movies.
This is a list that changes from time to time, but the top two are pretty consistent.
Anyway without further ado I present my top five favorite movies:
5) Perks of Being a Wallflower
“He’s a wallflower. You see things. You keep quiet about them. And you understand.”
4) V for Vendetta
“Beneath this mask there is more than flesh Mr Creedy. Beneath this mask there is an idea. And ideas are bulletproof.”
3) Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World
“I kind of feel like I’m on drugs when I’m with you. Not that I do drugs. Unless you do drugs. Then I do drugs all the time, every drug.”
2) Dazed and Confused
“George Washington was in a cult, and the cult was into aliens, man.”
1) Stand by Me
Gordie: Do you think I’m weird?
Chris: Definitely.
Gordie: No man, seriously. Am I weird?
Chris: Yeah, but so what? Everybody’s weird.
I realize that most of these movies are coming of age (or have coming of age themes to them) so I guess you could say I have a certain type.
Are these on anyone else’s top 5 list?
